Contributing doesn't have to mean money. Every one of these makes the roots grow.
This is a movement of Australians who believe ordinary people deserve to understand the systems they live in. Not a political party. Not a campaign. Not a brand. Just quiet solidarity.
There is no fee to be here, no obligation, no tracking. Everyone who reads is already part of it. If you want to give something back, here are the ways. Any one of them counts.

Stay in touch
The email list is for occasional updates: when a new document goes live, when legislation changes that affects something we have written about, when supporter items become available. Maybe four to six emails a year. Never more often.
No tracking pixels, no analytics, no third-party processors that profile you. The email list runs on the smallest privacy-respecting platform that gets the job done. Unsubscribe in one click any time.
Signup form is a placeholder for launch. Once the project has a real mailing list provider (Buttondown or similar) the form will hook up directly. For now, email hello@rootsgrowinthedark.org to be added manually.

Everything on this site is free. There is no paywall. Voluntary support covers hosting, AI research tools, and a small amount for the time it takes to keep documents current.
The deeper why
We are not visible the way the branches of a tree are visible. But the tree does not stand without us. You are already part of this if you are reading this. The "joining" is just a way of saying it out loud.
Roots grow in the dark, before anything reaches the light.
