HEADS-UP — REGULATED WORK

If your offer involves electrical, plumbing, gas, building, legal advice, medical or financial advice, or anything regulated by AHPRA, ASIC, or a state licensing body, you need to hold the licence required for that work. Include your licence number in the description. Trading licensed work without a licence is illegal regardless of whether money changes hands.

It's true. What you're offering exists, works, and you can actually deliver it. Misleading listings can breach the Australian Consumer Law even in a barter.
It's yours to trade. The item is yours, or you have the owner's permission. Skills are your own.
It's not regulated work you're not licensed for. Electrical, plumbing, gas, legal, medical, financial advice need the right licence — see above.
It's not a payment-for-service workaround. If you're really running a business, declare income as the ATO requires (market value at the time of exchange).
It's not someone else's copyright. Don't offer pirated software, ripped books, or unlicensed reproductions.
No alcohol, tobacco, firearms, prescription medicines, or anything illegal to trade.
Be reachable. The contact-reveal system means the other person will eventually get your details. Make sure you're ready to follow through.
